TEAM AND ROLE OVERVIEW
The Agri-business Manager is being recruited, in a full-time position, to be a part of aQysta Malawi’s core team.
The Agri-business Manager is responsible for managing both the supply and demand aspects of the agri-business by overseeing procurement, inventory, and supplier negotiations, as well as sales, marketing, and customer engagement, ensuring efficient operations across the value chain to maximize profitability and market growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Supply Side Management
Oversee sourcing, procurement, and inventory of agricultural products/harvest from farmers/farmers group
Develop and maintain relationships with farmers, suppliers, and logistics partners
Plan and forecast supply requirements based on market trends and demand
Monitor quality control and ensure compliance with agricultural standards
Optimize logistics for the timely receipt and storage of supplies
Negotiate contracts and prices with vendors and suppliers
Implement and monitor sustainable sourcing practices
Demand Side Management
Analyse market trends and customer needs to forecast product demand
Develop and maintain relationships with distributors, wholesalers, retailers, and end-customers
Coordinate production planning based on demand projections
Lead marketing and sales initiatives to expand market share and revenue
Monitor inventory levels, sales, and fulfilment processes
Oversee pricing strategies and promotional activities
Gather feedback from customers and the market to improve offerings
Cross-Functional Coordination
Liaise between production, sales, logistics, and finance teams for seamless operations
Prepare regular reports for management on sales, procurement, inventory, and profitability
Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies for supply chain disruptions
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and quality standards
BACKGROUND AND SKILLS
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business Administration, or related field
At least 5-7 years of proven experience in supply chain, procurement, or sales management in agri-business
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Excel, data analysis, and forecasting techniques
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work in a fast-paced environment
Trustworthy, honest, and a problem solver
Fluent in English, Chichewa, and/or Hindi is a plus
