TEAM AND ROLE OVERVIEW
The Agriculture Intern will be based in Doti, Bogatan Phudsil Rural Municipality, and will support aQysta's field-level farming activities with a special focus on Ginger. This role is ideal for someone eager to gain hands-on experience in organic farming practices, farmer engagement, and agricultural data collection while contributing directly to the company's mission of improving farmer livelihoods through sustainable practices.

If your answer is yes, this internship offers a valuable opportunity to build practical experience in agriculture value chain activities, from farmer surveys to on-field technical guidance, while working closely with aQysta's Agriculture team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform daily checks on the food products to ensure safety and quality standards.
Be based initially in Doti, Bogatan Phudsil, and lead field-level implementation of aQysta's farming activities, with a special focus on Ginger.
Conduct detailed farmer surveys on organic and inorganic farming practices, input usage, production methods, and compliance status.
Maintain accurate digital and physical records of farmer data, crop progress, input usage, and survey findings in the company's reporting system.
Guide farmers in transitioning toward and maintaining organic farming practices, ensuring adherence to certification standards.
Regularly monitor and document field activities.
Coordinate closely with aQysta's Agriculture team for surveys, field assessments, sample collection, and farmer data verification.
Collect field samples (soil, crop, residue where required) as per certification or internal monitoring requirements.
Prepare and submit regular field reports to the Kathmandu office team, including progress updates, survey findings, challenges, and recommendations.
Provide on-field technical guidance to farmers on crop management, pest and disease control using organic methods, and good agricultural practices.
Work in close coordination with the agronomist and sourcing team to ensure smooth implementation of production and compliance plans.
BACKGROUND AND SKILLS
Academic Background
Pre-Diploma in Agriculture or I.Sc. Ag in Plant Science
Work Experience
Minimum one year of experience working in agriculture, especially in household-level surveys
Skills and Competencies
Strong knowledge of Ginger and organic farming (mandatory)
Ability to motivate and manage farmers effectively
Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills
Traits
Self-disciplined and trustworthy
