TEAM AND ROLE OVERVIEW

  • Join our dynamic team as an Agriculture Technician, where you will work directly with farmers and cooperatives in Karnali Province to implement and strengthen aQysta’s organic farming initiatives.

  • As a key member of the Agriculture team, you will support field-level coordination, farmer engagement, and implementation of organic production systems while ensuring compliance with quality and certification standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be stationed within farmer clusters in Karnali Province to coordinate and manage aQysta’s organic farming activities.

  • Monitor all stages of crop production—from planting to post-harvest handling—to ensure adherence to organic practices and quality standards.

  • Travel across different regions of Karnali Province to identify and assess potential production areas for timur and other exportable crops.

  • Conduct regular farm visits to evaluate crop condition, production progress, and yield potential.

  • Carry out farmer surveys to gather data on production practices, challenges, and opportunities for expansion.

  • Support onboarding of new farmers, groups, and cooperatives by assessing their capacity and alignment with quality and organic standards.

  • Provide technical guidance to farmers on improved cultivation, organic inputs, pest management, and post-harvest practices.

  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Internal Control System (ICS), including farmer registration, documentation, and internal inspections.

  • Support organic certification processes by ensuring compliance with standards, maintaining records, and preparing farmers/groups for audits.

  • Maintain accurate field records, reports, and documentation of farmer interactions and production data.

BACKGROUND AND SKILLS

  • Local candidates from Karnali Province are preferred.

  • Diploma in Agriculture (mandatory)

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an agriculture-related field work

Skills & Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel extensively and work in remote areas of Karnali Province (mandatory)

  • Knowledge of Internal Control Systems (ICS) and organic certification standards (highly preferred)

  • Good communication skills to work with farmers and cooperatives

  • Ability to conduct field surveys, sampling, and quality assessment

  • Basic data recording and reporting skills

  • Strong planning and time management for field visits and multiple tasks

  • Team coordination and relationship-building skills
