TEAM AND ROLE OVERVIEW

  • The Processing Manager is being recruited, in a full-time position, to be a part of aQysta Malawi’s team.

  • The Processing Manager will work closely with the Country ManagerQuality Assurance, and Sourcing teams to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality processing operations.

    The Processing Manager will play a vital role in maintaining production excellence, compliance with food safety standards, and continuous improvement of operational processes at aQysta Malawi’s processing facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise production supervisors, operators, and support staff.

  • Plan and oversee shift schedules, task assignments, and performance evaluations.

  • Coordinate with sourcing teams to ensure timely supply of raw materials and packaging.

  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to monitor product specifications and implement corrective actions.

  • Conduct training on hygiene, safety, and efficient production practices.

  • Ensure machinery and utilities (e.g., dryers, packers) are functioning properly and safely.

  • Enforce compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

  • Maintain detailed production records, batch documentation, and traceability data.

  • Analyze production data and prepare regular performance and incident reports.

  • Contribute to internal, external, or regulatory audits.

BACKGROUND AND SKILLS  

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chichewa.

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Leadership and team management skills.

Academic Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Processing, Food Engineering, Food Technology, or Nutrition.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a related position.

  • Prior experience in the private sector is preferred.

Traits

  • Excellent work ethic and professional integrity.

  • Trustworthy, dependable, and self-motivated.

  • Able to lead by example and maintain discipline in operations.
